Maya Trotz, Ph.D.

Dr. Maya Trotz (PI and Co-chairperson) is a professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at USF, past President of AEESP, and past co-chair of the 2011 AEESP Education and Research conference held at USF. Dr. Trotz currently directs the Collaborative National Research Traineeship Strong Coasts program, that trains graduate students in engineering, anthropology, and marine sciences on the co-creation of knowledge with coastal communities on Food Energy Water solutions. She was part of the organizational team for an all day workshop, “Environmental Engineering for the 21st Century: Increasing Diversity and Community Participation to Achieve Environmental and Social Justice” at the 2019 AEESP conference. Dr. Trotz manages the AEESP YouTube channel, and has produced many of the videos posted there of interviews with environmental engineers and scientists.
